Ideal Adult Family Home
Choose care with questions, documents, and an in-person visit.
A polished website is not a substitute for official records, a thorough tour, and a written care agreement.
Tour checklist
- Verify the license status and read recent inspection or enforcement information.
- Ask who owns and operates the home and who is present on each shift.
- Discuss awake or sleep staff at night and response times.
- Review care planning, medication systems, emergencies, falls, and changes in condition.
- Observe resident interaction, odors, noise, cleanliness, food, and general atmosphere.
- Ask about room availability, fees, deposits, refunds, Medicaid participation, and extra charges.
- Review policies for visitors, pets, smoking, transportation, appointments, and outside providers.
- Speak with the resident privately when possible and include them in the decision.
